Our Objective

Sustainability is a core theme in our workshops. We emphasize that individual actions have real environmental impact, especially as the effects of climate change intensify. At the same time, we frame sustainability as a tool for informed decision-making, helping participants think more critically about their choices, approach problems thoughtfully, and navigate everyday life with greater awareness and intention.

We have partnered with K-12 schools and community organizations across the Midwest, including Rooted Inc., Badger Rock Middle School, and Sullivan High School, and maintain close ties with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Concept Exploration

Our workshops combine sustainability concept exploration with engineering and design thinking, introducing topics such as climate change, renewable energy, food systems, waste reduction, and closed-loop solutions. Through hands-on, collaborative design challenges, participants apply their learning to real-world problems using iteration and teamwork to develop practical, impactful solutions.

Hands-on Project Based Learning

We apply workshop concepts through hands-on, action-oriented activities that connect sustainability with engineering and design. Participants have built hydroponic and aquaponic systems, prototyped solutions using 3D printing and laser cutting, explored composting and biodegradable materials, and designed small-scale solar and closed-loop systems to address real environmental challenges.

What Educators Say

“We had a wonderful time building terrariums and learning about climate change. We don’t usually get much sustainability education in the classroom.”
