
The Earth Week Design Challenge
An Earth Week Design Challenge, hosted in partnership with the UW-Madison Makerspace, will invite university students to design innovative sustainability learning activities using The Juniper Journal app to document projects and measure environmental impact. Teams and students will be registered Day 1 of the design challenge. Apply below if interested.

Registration closes.
April 19th – Design Challenge Day 1: Kickoff
Introduction to the Design Space Challenge overview, Juniper Journal app introduction, rapid design workshop, and team formation.
April 20th – Design Challenge Day 2: Research & Prototyping
Teams develop their learning module or prototype, meet with mentors, and log daily progress in the app. Dedicated prototyping time at the Makerspace with mentor support.
April 21st – Design Challenge Day 3: Finalization & Pitch Preparation
Teams refine their projects, finalize documentation, complete cost summaries, and prepare their pitch. Final materials are uploaded to the submission portal.
April 22nd - Design Challenge Day 4: Earth Day Final Showcase
Teams present their final pitches, followed by judging and awards.
